About This Performance

“No matter what [Bronfman] plays, it’s always about the music and how can he best do justice to the score and realize the composer’s intentions.” –Los Angeles Times

Bring your entire family to celebrate Thanksgiving with your Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and the first BNY Mellon Grand Classics weekend at Heinz Hall since their return from Europe!

Manfred Honeck continues his Thanksgiving tradition with a fun-filled concert of waltzes and polkas by the Strauss Family, including the famous Blue Danube waltz. The “Emperor” is the most famous of Beethoven’s five piano concertos with its regal melodies. Grammy Award-winning pianist Yefim Bronfman brings his exceptional talent and musicality to this stunning work. Plus, world-renowned baritone and Pittsburgh favorite Gregg Baker sings Mancini's "Old Man River" and more. A perfect treat for everyone to enjoy!
