COVID-19 Subscriber Update

As a BNY Mellon Grand Classics, PNC Pops, or Fiddlesticks 2020-21 subscriber, you will now be rolled automatically into the 2021-22 season, allowing you to maintain your same seats and other subscriber benefits at the same subscription price.

Due to public health guidance and government restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic, today we announce that we are moving forward with a reinvented 2020-21 season that will begin in the fall with newly created digital programming that will be free to the public, as previously scheduled concerts through December 2020 have been cancelled.

While it is heartbreaking to know that we will not be able to share the special experiences that were planned for the fall, we simply can't be together with our audience inside Heinz Hall at this time, given current building restrictions and public health guidance. However, as we expressed when we announced our 125th season, and is no less true today, we are extraordinary together with our community.

Music sustains, heals, exhilarates and lifts the spirits. We are deeply grateful to all of our subscribers, sponsors, and the community for supporting this great orchestra.

FAQ

What are you planning in lieu of the canceled fall 2020-21 season concerts?
While we are cancelling our fall in-person concerts, we still plan to bring you fresh and innovative digital content for the first half of our 2020-21 season. Please check our website, your email, and social media for updates.

What are you planning for the spring of the 2020-21 season?
We are currently planning to return to Heinz Hall in January with previously announced and newly imagined concerts, subject to ongoing public health guidance, and government regulations including possible travel restrictions. Later in the fall, we will have more information and subscribers will be eligible to purchase a discounted mini season package prior to the public.

Will I be charged anything to complete my subscription rollover?
There will be no additional charges to your account to complete this transaction. However, you will still be required to pay any outstanding subscription balance if you have not yet done so.

If I chose not to renew my subscription this year because of COVID-19, am I able to secure my 2021-22 subscription at this time?
Yes. Renew your subscription at your fixed 2020-21 rate by contacting your assigned Patron Services Representative or the Box Office at 412-392-4900 or customerservice@pittsburghsymphony.org. Please note we cannot guarantee that you will still receive the same seats as 2019-20.

What will my subscriber benefits be while we are not able to meet in person?
Subscribers will have access to exclusive content throughout our digital season, as well as priority ticketing when our in-person concerts resume. Also by staying subscribed, you will be able to lock in your seats and discounted pricing for the 2021-22 season.

When will you announce the concerts for the 2021-22 season?
Although we typically announce our season in February, we are anticipating many uncertainties surrounding guest artists into next year. We hope to present to you a full comeback season by the end of spring 2021.

What other options are available to me if I don't want to roll my 2020-21 subscription into the 2021-22 season?

  • Donate your subscription for a tax credit. By donating your tickets in lieu of a refund, you are providing vital support for the music and musicians that inspire and connect our community.
  • Apply the value of your ticket towards a gift certificate.
  • Bank the value of your tickets. Your tickets will be released, and the value of your tickets will be placed on hold (banked) to be redeemed at a later date. If you want to hold onto your tickets in case a postponement date is announced, no further action is required.
  • Request a refund for your subscription.

To choose one of the above options, contact your assigned Patron Services Representative or the Box Office at 412-392-4900 or customerservice@pittsburghsymphony.org.
