Sounds of Summer on Centre
- Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra
- Elsie Hillman Auditorium at the Kaufmann Center
Join the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra in the beautiful Elsie H. Hillman Auditorium at the Kaufmann Center for a concert celebrating the artistic and cultural vibrancy of the Hill District neighborhood. “Sounds of Summer on Centre” will feature local poets as well as Hill District-native and Imani Winds member Monica Ellis as soloist in Mozart’s Bassoon Concerto. Favorite soprano, Anqwenique, will sing Giordani’s Caro Mio Ben and Daniel Roumaine’s “On the Edge of Night” featuring lyrics by Yona Harvey. The program will feature PSO musicians Jennifer Orchard, Kelsey Blumenthal, Laura Fuller, and Bronwyn Banerdt performing the second movement of Florence Price’s String Quartet in G Major. Amazing Grace and other works will highlight the lush sounds of the PSO’s string section under the baton of Andres Franco. All ticket proceeds benefit the Hill House Association.
Enjoy pre-concert drumming and storytelling led by Amir Rashidd and post-concert jazz with Kenny Blake in the courtyard.
Ticket prices are $10 adults and $5 students/seniors available through eventbrite.
