Meet the PSO in a concert featuring individual musicians and instrument families of the orchestra under the baton of Associate Conductor Earl Lee. The 16th annual Wilkinsburg Community Concert showcases orchestra favorites including Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro Overture, Mendelssohn’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Bizet’s Carmen; PSO trumpets Micah Wilkinson, Neal Berntsen, and Chad Winkler; Jennifer Steele, Flute; and Gretchen Van Hoesen, Harp. A special performance by music students from Wilkinsburg’s Turner Intermediate School will round out the program.

The Wilkinsburg Community Concert is part of the PSO’s Wilkinsburg Neighborhood Partnership. Now in its 16th year, the Wilkinsburg Neighborhood Partnership promotes music education in the Wilkinsburg School District by raising funds for the music program, supplementing music instruction with classroom visits by PSO musicians, and providing opportunities for students to attend performances at Heinz Hall.

Tickets for this event can be purchased at the door on the evening of the concert: $12/adult, $5/student (cash or check only)

100% of proceeds from the concert benefit the Wilkinsburg School District Music Program
