As a special THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT, Pittsburgh Symphony subscribers are invited to attend these FREE Subscriber Appreciation Concerts. Simone Porter, who was to have appeared with the Orchestra in the Fall, makes her Pittsburgh Symphony debut with Samuel Barber’s breathtaking Violin Concerto. James MacMillan’s Fourth Symphony, also scheduled for the Fall, will be heard with the composer in attendance. And rising conductor Matthew Halls, in his Pittsburgh Symphony debut, leads these works, plus Mendelssohn’s joyous “Scottish” Symphony.
