Benjamin Goodly is an oboist from Atlanta, Georgia. He completed his studies with a second master’s degree at the Shepherd School of Music at Rice University with Robert Atherholt and Erin Hannigan. His other notable teachers include Titus Underwood at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music and Jane Marvine at the Peabody Institute of Music. As an orchestral musician, he has performed with a variety of orchestras throughout the United States working with notable conductors. He has collaborated with conductors including Miguel Harth-Bedoya, Cristian Măcelaru, and Kevin John Edusei. Benjamin has performed with the Alabama, Houston, and Kentucky Symphony Orchestras, as well as the San Antonio Philharmonic. In 2026, he was selected for the Paul J. Ross Fellowship with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra for the 2026-2028 seasons. Also passionate about teaching, he has spent the past several years teaching at the middle school and high school level.
