Paul J. Ross Fellow



Raúl Orellana joins the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra as a Paul J. Ross fellow for the 2026/27 season. Prior to joining the orchestra, he was acting 3rd/Utility Trumpet with the St. Louis Symphony. A native of San Juan, Puerto Rico, he received his bachelor’s degree from the Curtis Institute of Music, and pursued graduate studies at Northwestern University’s Bienen School of Music. Raúl has performed with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and the New World Symphony. As a student, Raúl has spent his summers at Tanglewood, National Orchestral Institute + Festival, and MasterWorks Festival.
