PITTSBURGH SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF NEW SECTION VIOLINIST

PITTSBURGH, PA—The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and Music Director Manfred Honeck are pleased to announce that Cecee Pantikian joins the orchestra as a member of the Second Violin Section with the start of the 2020-2021 season. Pantikian has been a frequent substitute with the Pittsburgh Symphony since 2014, including the 2017 Europe Tour.

A sought-after orchestral musician, Cecee Pantikian has been invited to perform as a substitute violin with the New York Philharmonic, among others, has played on Broadway as a substitute for shows such as Aladdin, Hello Dolly, SpongeBob, and Kiss Me Kate, and as a first violin member of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular. Pantikian has been a member of the Glimmerglass Festival Orchestra since 2018, and has toured and played at numerous prominent festivals and academies. In 2003, Pantikian made her Carnegie Hall, Isaac Stern Auditorium debut, performing Khachaturian’s Violin Concerto with the Senior Concert Orchestra of New York. She holds a Bachelor of Music, Master of Music, and a Professional Studies Certificate in Orchestral performance from the Manhattan School of Music.
