HOLIDAY BRASS SPECTACULAR RETURNS TO HEINZ HALL

SECOND “FILM WITH LIVE ORCHESTRA: TIM BURTON’S THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS” ADDED TO FALL CALENDAR

New Programs Will Be Part of 11 Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Programs in the Holiday Season

PITTSBURGH—The “Holiday Brass Spectacular,” featuring the renowned Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Brass, returns to Heinz Hall in December. This special holiday tradition is one of 11 programs with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra taking place at Heinz Hall during the extended holiday season. Known for its brilliance, refinement and incredible power, the virtuosic brass section of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra will perform a range of festive music, from traditional Baroque to new arrangements of beloved holiday songs. The concert takes place on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at 7:30 p.m.

The Pittsburgh Symphony has also announced the addition of a second performance of “Films with Live Orchestra: Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas” on Thursday, November 16, 2023, at 7:00 p.m. Disney’s timeless holiday classic follows the earnest-but-misguided adventures of Jack Skellington, Hallowe’en Town’s beloved Pumpkin King, as he attempts to take over the Christmas holiday. Grammy Award-winning composer Danny Elfman’s score is performed live to the film,
